Woke up and packed ourselves in the car with the dog.

Arrived at the starting point at Zec Louise-Gosford - Secteur Gosford some time before 10.00. Signed in and continued to parking #3.

Started our way to the summit through some muddy areas and maple suryp hoses.

Pretty nice hike up, some parts more steep than the others but nothing crazy in summer time at least. Arrived at the summit around noon. Went up to relax in the tower at the top and had our lunch. Sandwiches and snacks.

Explored a bit on the top and they even had a public toilet.

The summit had a really nice view and maps to easy spot the different mountains spread out over multiple states/provinces/countries.

I hope I'll be able to come back for some nice wild camping.

Woke up to a beautiful day, blue sky, sunny. Just above freezing in the air. Packed myself and the dog to go to Parc Frontenac and do Massif Winslow.

Got there and not only was the facilities closed but the whole road was blocked. Checked the map and found 3 Monts outside Disraeli. Rerouted there and found a nice trail, about 1o kms. Just as I got the map from the receptionist I saw the dreadful sign "No dogs allowed". Talked a bit why they don't allow the dogs. Got the impression it is more about dog owners than an actual problem with an animal in the nature. Keep your dogs leashed estis! Pick up your dog shit and trash!

Rerouted once again and got back to the Mount Chapman trail. Been here once before. This time I opted for the longer trail. 5km out, 3.5 km back.

Just as we were about to leave for the trail it started to rain. At this point I din't care about rules or weather. Off we go!

Due to the warm weather and a bit of rain the trail was not super nice but spikes were a must to avoid falling. Met 3 people on the whole stretch, so that was very nice.

Even though it is not a very high mountain there are some parts where you need a bit of physique, but nothing that will stop you.

Was a bit of an interesting view during parts of the ascent. All ice and snow was gone and mostly dirt and mud. I guess it was facing south with no shade. A bit further up the snow and ice came back.

Had my sandwich at the summit with some tea. Loke got his croquettes and some treats. He was more interested in licking the snow than drinking the water I brought for him. Ungrateful little bastard!

After some mandatory photos and looking at the view it was time to go back to the parking. I opted for the shorter path back. Pretty nice way back without it being too steep. More of a relaxing walk in the fresh air.

The return to Adirondack.

Went to the apartment the night before to be ready in the morning and cross the border to the U.S and meet up with the Mountain Goat and the rest of the hiking team at Adirondack Loj.

This time was more winter than last time and we almost immediately put on the spikes after one of the guys fell and we got a reality check.

Continued the march and eventually it was time to ascend Algonquin. Very rough climb with ice and snow. As we got to the top it was blue sky and sunny. I was looking forward to finally have my lunch, but due to the wind, it was too cold to eat at the summit. The view was amazing. I had just a few photos including my frozen snot face, but it was too cold to handle the phone without gloves so I just need to remember the gorgeous view from the top.

As we got back down to the tree line it suddenly felt super warm even though it wasn't.

We continued back to junction and went for Wrights. At the beginning of the path leading up to the summit we finally had lunch!

As we started the ascent it felt like I was going to have cramps in my thigh. I told the Mountain Goat to continue and I'll come if I come. Seems it was a false alarm and I managed to continue slowly but steady. I was running on discipline and fumes. As we got past the tree line a gorgeous rocky environment showed up. The rocks were covered in green moss, very strange to see in this environment at this time of the year. Some snow and and ice here and there but mostly plain rocks. I prefer this summit to Algonquin, the environment and the view was awesome. We could see Algonquin from here and I was surprised that I had managed to get up there.

As the cold and wind was kicking in it was time to get back down. As we got back to the junction the focus was just to get back to the Loj. I was definitely the slow Monsieur Branleux. The thighs were under pressure as we descended. As the ground got more flat I managed to speed up a bit and finally we got back to the parking.

I said goodbye to my hiking team and went for a coffee and some souvenirs. Got back into the car and drove back up to Canada for 2h. Had a quick breath at the apartment and continued to Estrie for another 2h. That night I slept very very good, and woke up with a very sore body...

I'd definitely do it again.

All in all not too much unnecessary stuff but some room for improvements to down size for lighter packing.

The clothing fit very well. Could handle the the summits. Maybe the face cover or neck warmer should have been used at the top due to the cold and wind.

Had maybe a little more than half of the water and tea. Not too hungry during the hike but you need to fill up the energy reserves. The big sandwich was good fit for lunch. Maybe a bit more breakfast next time.

The snacks were good during the breaks.

I had no use for the snowshoes, but it was mandatory in order to be allowed to go out. The spikes worked very well. Tracked health data with the watch and collected GPS data with the GPS device to use in Basecamp for tracking purposes.

• Head lamp

It's mandatory to bring a head lamp when hiking the Adirondack. I put mine on charging before I left. Then I left it there to charge.  Don't do that!

First hike in Adirondack. One way hike to the summit ~14kms round trip.

Started with a little bit of snow on the ground. More and more the higher up we got. Covered with snow at the summit. A lot of "climbing" and ice the last mile up. Did not eat a proper breakfast and got a cramp just below the top. Very nice hike and some nice views on the way. A lot of fog at the summit, so no view.

The hike was a bit rough, especially the last mile, but it was very nice and within my skill level.

Stayed the night at the Adirondack Loj at the loft. Very nice place and nice people staying there. Three course dinner at night.

Had severe pain in one leg on the Sunday and did not manage to do a morning hike. Possibly due to a twist of the leg when I got the cramp.
